What do you view as your most important contribution to the daily operations of your school?
Perspective, thoughtfulness, hustle, organization, guidance, relationships and connection.
What has been your biggest challenge since the pandemic started?
Managing expectations.
What are you looking forward to most in 2022?
Constructive conversations with our community, supporting families and students, hearing stories from our staff and teachers, hanging out with students and hearing their stories, continuing to positively influence the narrative in public schools. And being present for my family and kids. Plus watching a lot of volleyball and Kansas Basketball, working on my flower farm, and reading.
What’s your favorite social media platform and why?
Twitter – seeing into the perspective and mindset of so many different people. Or Instagram – because I love seeing beautiful photos without much commentary.
How does your district support their teachers?
Through conversations, honoring requests, and putting power into their hands.
